I am sure you all have your “list” of things to do before you travel
I thought I would share a few of mine…..
PETS: We have 5 dogs between our two homes so we have a dog sitter. She stays with our “kids” and loves on them. She’s stopping by one last time to go over the list and routine. We have two amazing house/dog sitters in case you are looking for a referral.
PACKING: I make a list of things I want to bring: swimsuits, waterproof birks, meds, ear buds, phone charger, sunscreen, etc. Then as I load the packing cubes I check things off.
I make sure to pack enough medications for the trip with a few extra in case we get delayed. We don’t have to pack shampoo, conditioner or body wash as our resorts provide them. Its nice to check to see what they provide ahead of time to save room while packing.
I change out my wallet and only take 1-2 credit cards, Costco card, drivers license and insurance card. I take handbag/tote and a suitcase. I try to travel minimally.
I reconfirm all the reservations. (I have a funny story about this for another post) Our resorts do a “welcome call” so we booked a few things like a luau, and learned of some discounts we might want to take advantage of while on vacation.
WORK: Update your out of office so that you can truly unplug from work. Also remind your team you are not going to be available. My team is amazing, they cheer me on and I love sharing photos and adventures with them. I am so very blessed!
FOOD: My mom has snacks/food in her suitcase since groceries in Hawaii are very expensive. We take salt/pepper, ziplocs, tortillas, butter, coffee, creamer, spices, microwave popcorn, chex mix, trail mix. (any snacks from home). This makes shopping affordable when we land. We typically go to Costco and Safeway.
What kinds of routine do you do the week of travel? I travel often enough I keep a toiletries bag stocked, and back up items available. Minimizing stress will make the trip a lot easier. I want to be present when I am away. I want to breathe deep and enjoy the time with family/friends.

Cheers ~ Kristi
